This past weekend I wanted to inaugurate my new caste iron dutch oven and my very own copy of “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” I followed the recipe exactly so here is the link to it. By far the best beef stew I have ever had or made ! Enjoy !

Towel dry the cubes of beef, otherwise they will never brown.
sauté the vegetables.
Add the wine and bay leaf and let is cook away in the oven !
I haven’t even had breakfast yet, but it’s cold, and I want this beef stew in my belly now!

Hi Priya, I’ve always wanted to try this recipe. It sounds so good. Was it very difficult or time consuming? What a great recipe to inaugurate your dutch oven with!

Hi !
Not difficult at all, but I did take some time and care to dry the meat and brown it in batches—so I guess the prep does take a bit of time but it is sooooo worth it !

You just reminded me that I haven’t made this dish in ages! We’re getting the perfect weather for this so it’s time to put it back on my list.
