Welcome Fall !!!!! On the first day of the best season of the year this is my recipe to you all. Whether you use fresh or frozen, for a weeknight side dish or a holiday dish, roasted brussel sprouts with sweet/tart berries and nutty rich almonds will become a standard go to. Try it this season and the best part is that it is super easy !
Ingredients:
1 tbsp of Olive oil
1 lb of brussel sprouts
salt and pepper to taste
chopped almonds and cranberries. Walnuts and golden raisins would work too. Please add much as your family likes.
Method:
Preheat oven to 375F
Toss the sprouts in oil and salt and pepper.
Roasted till the brussel sprouts are golden brown, and some of the outer leaves are crispy, about 40 mins. ( temp will change according to your oven’s power)
While the brussel sprouts roast chop up your nuts and berries.
Once the brussel sprouts are done, remove them from the oven and immediately toss in the nuts and dried fruit. Residual heat will toast the nuts and soften the fruit.
Serve warm !
This looks absolutely delicious. I love your recipe mixture of cranberries, dried fruit, and nuts with brussel sprouts.

Dressing up Brussel sprouts with cranberries and almolnds is a great idea. I’ve only come to appreciate them recently. If I shred them like cabbages and toss them into a stew they add a sweet taste.

This just looks amazing. Full stop. Must try this (regardless of the complaints I’ll get from my husband that he ‘can’t stand Brussel sprouts’ lol).

I’ve made similar and been surprised how much better Brussels sprouts are roasted than boiled like I ate as a child.

So yummy. It looks like you used dried cranberries. I wonder how fresh cranberries would work, if you roast them along w/ the Brussels sprouts? Must try when I get get my hands on some!

Yum! I love roasted brussels sprouts, and have done them with nuts, but berries is a great idea for an addition–I love the salty-sweet contrast– especially in this season here where I am in New England, when cranberries are everywhere. Thanks for the idea. Love your mouth-watering blog. I have a type 1 diabetic daughter, so will have to start adapting some of your delicious recipes.

As a child I liked all vegetables except brussel sprouts. I really, really hated them. This recipe looks so delicious and pretty that I think I should give them another chance.

Looks delicious! I’m a big fan of Brussel Sprouts and this is great pairing. I will say I tried frozen brussel sprouts a few years ago after eating only fresh cooked ones for many years and I spit them out. Soooo nasty…
